Privacy notice
Short version: we count visits without identifying anyone, and only use Google Analytics cookies if you say yes. If you send us an enquiry, we use it to reply to you, and that's all.
Who we are
Poolbeg Home Automation (home-automation.ie) is run by Ernesto Ongaro in Dublin, Ireland, who is the data controller for the information described here. Contact: hello@home-automation.ie.
What we collect on this website
Only what you type into the enquiry form: your name, email, mobile number, and optionally your area, the equipment you have and your message. We use it to reply to you and arrange a consultation. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes basic request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site. Enquiries are delivered to us by email.
Analytics and cookies
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits: which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, and how fast the pages load. It sets no cookies, doesn't fingerprint your device, and doesn't follow you to other sites, so it can't tell who you are.
If you click Accept on the cookie banner, we also use Google Analytics. It sets cookies (named _ga) that last up to two years, so we can see how visitors move through the site and which pages lead to enquiries. Google processes this data for us. The legal basis is your consent. If you say no, Google Analytics doesn't load at all. You can change your mind any time with cookie settings.
We remember your choice in your browser's local storage, which is needed for the site to respect it.
How long we keep it
If you don't become a customer, we delete your enquiry within 12 months. If you do, the customer agreement explains how we handle your data from then on.
Customers' home data
Your Home Assistant hub runs in your house and your energy and device data stays there. We connect to it remotely to support it. The customer agreement sets out what we can see, what we do with it, and how to switch our access off.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
